By Anvi Bhat, A cheerful, confidence-building write-up of a 7 year-old OI Warrior

I’m Anvi Bhat! I’m 7 years old, and I love to draw and paint! Every day is an adventure for me, especially at school and with my friends. I was born with a condition called Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which means I have to be a little more careful with my bones. But that doesn’t stop me from having fun!
I enjoy learning new things, especially Mathematics, Art, and Cooking. I have some lovely teachers and friends who make school exciting. I also know how to take care of myself during activities, as I’ve got my own little ways of doing things safely, and that makes me feel proud!
My friends and I play games, tell stories, share lunch, and laugh a lot! I don’t join in everything, but we always find fun things we all can enjoy together, like drawing, some games, and playing with toys. My friends and I are a great team.
I choose games and hobbies that suit me best — and guess what? That helps me discover new talents too! I enjoy art and craft, board games, playing in the sand, and I’ve learned how to have loads of fun while also being careful.
And guess what — this year, I danced and walked on the ramp at my school’s Annual Day function! My teachers made sure that I participate and enjoy the process the whole time, as I love to dance. They choreographed steps that were easy and safe for me to perform, and my friends stood by me and supported me all through.
What I want to share is that everyone has their own story, and I’m happy with mine. I’ve learned to listen to my body, ask for help when I need it, and, most importantly, to smile, try, and keep going! I believe in making the most of every single day.
I think my superpower is being kind, brave, and never giving up. Every day is a new chance to grow, laugh, and shine bright!
