Fun Times, My Way

Aarika is a bright and cheerful 10-year-old girl from Delhi, known as “Mighty Aarika: The OI Warrior.” She was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta when she was just five months old. Even though she has faced many fractures and physical challenges, Aarika is full of positivity and courage. She loves sharing her journey on Facebook and Instagram, where she talks about her learning, travels, and everyday moments. From working hard in school to exploring places like waterparks and skywalks, Aarika shows that life can still be full of joy and adventure. She is also an inspiration to many children with rare conditions, showing that with courage and a happy heart, anything is possible. In her own words, this is how Aarika has fun her way.

For me, happiness is not about doing everything easily. It is about staying happy even when things get a little hard.

Sometimes, life slows me down. I have had fractures during special times, like just before celebrations, and I couldn’t always do everything others were doing. But that never took away my excitement. I still remember my uncle’s wedding, my birthdays, and festivals like Diwali. I remember the smiles, the lights, and all the hugs. That is what made those moments special for me.

Even if I couldn’t run around or move freely, I was always there—dressed up, laughing, and enjoying in my own way. For me, being part of the moment is what matters the most.

School was also a little different for me. Going to a regular school didn’t really work, and after my surgery, I had to stop going. For some time, studying at home felt boring, like just copying from books. Then my parents decided to homeschool me, and that changed everything.

We found an online school called 21K, and suddenly learning became fun again. I could understand things better and learn at my own pace. Now I feel more confident and happy about my studies.

I also love travelling. My trip to Singapore was very special. It showed me that I can still explore the world and make beautiful memories. I visited fun places, enjoyed new experiences, and felt really proud of myself. Every place I visit makes me feel stronger and braver.

I also do exercises to make my body stronger and improve my movements. Some days are easy, and some days are hard, but I keep trying. Even simple things like going out on a rainy day or moving around carefully feel like small achievements to me.

Yes, I do things differently. Sometimes I go slower and take extra care. But I never let that stop me from enjoying life.

I have learned that happiness is not about everything being perfect. It is about smiling even when things are not easy and finding joy in small things.

That is how I live—finding happiness in every moment, celebrating little things, and having fun… my way.
